Engineering

The Engineering team at Wrightbus is responsible for the design of a range of class leading Single and Double Deck passenger carrying vehicles which are used by Operators around the world. Our primary focus for some time has been zero emission technology development and we pride ourselves in having developed and launched both the worlds first Hydrogen powered Double Deck bus, and the world’s most efficient battery-electric double-deck bus.

The team work within an automotive Gate driven product development process which ensures that Quality is built into our products at each step of the design and verification process. We have expertise in all areas of the vehicles design, which feeds initially from our Customer’s Requirements – commencing with the Conceptual Design piece and including Chassis and Body Design, System Component Integration, Electrical Architecture Design, System Software Design and FEA activities.

Working on a zero emission product range creates lots of opportunities to work on exciting new battery, hydrogen fuel cell and electric driveline technologies and by nature of our global customer and supply base, opportunities to travel the world. The Engineering team also have responsibility for the Homologation of the entire Wrightbus product range, which requires on-site support of vehicle testing at the various vehicle proving grounds in the UK and a close working relationship with the Accreditation bodies.

The current team contains a nice balance of highly skilled experienced engineers and graduate level engineers and in support of our company’s growth, roles are currently available for engineers at various stages in their careers in each of the engineering disciplines.
