Building a sustainable Future

Wrightbus is an industry leader in building zero emission transport. Under Jo Bamford's leadership, Wrightbus is embarking on a new trajectory of innovation and environmental awareness. Just as with our Hydrogen bus, we're applying new energy solutions to help our vehicles meet their zero-emission targets. We are also creating more green economy UK jobs across our UK centric supply chain for our zero-emission buses.

The company has achieved many innovative and new technology successes on the Road to Zero Emissions through the design, development, and supply of new products into the Global market for example:

  • Launching the Hydroliner, world's first hydrogen powered double-deck bus in 2021
  • Launching the Electroliner, the world's most efficient Double-Deck battery-electric bus in 2022
  • Launching the GB Kite single-deck Hydroliner in 2023
  • Launching the GB Kite single-deck Electroliner in 2023

A further achievement was the launch of a new artificial intelligence (AI) telematics system that identifies information and statistics for every bus fitted with this new technology. This innovative technology has improved the after sales, support and communication that Wrightbus provides to their customers, building stronger relationships with our global market.

The company’s vision is to exponentially grow the business to be a global market leader and continue the research and development of new technologies for zero emissions to contribute to the UK, European and Global Climate change strategy.

Development of employee skills knowledge and understanding is key to this, and Wrightbus has committed to continue its support and engagement with Queen’s University. We have also reached out to other Universities, Colleges, and Local Councils, aiming to increase the skills of the employees and to add value back into the community. An example of this outreach is our pivotal role in the Hydrogen Training Academy, to re-invest in development of the Hydrogen Economy, which should significantly improve the progress in the “Road to Zero” and Global Climate change.
