Alex Gadd has been appointed as Head of Business Development for Parts and Services at leading bus manufacturer, Wrightbus.
Alex joins the Ballymena-based firm following two decades of working within the heavy equipment rental and manufacturing industry.
He brings with him a wealth of experience, having spent the past two years in the Road Rail plant sector. Prior to that he worked at JCB and equipment rental firm Hewden. Alex also has previous experience working for brewer Carlsberg, developing new and existing business.
Alex said: “I am delighted to be joining the business at such an exciting time, using my multi-sector experience to lead a Business Development team exploring the exciting opportunities in the marketplace.
“My role is to understand and scale the opportunity – what the potential is with our customers and potential customers.
“I look forward to helping unlock those opportunities, building on the great work which has been done by the team over the last couple of years and contributing to the further growth of the business.”
Alex joins at an exciting time for Wrightbus. In June, the firm announced it had signed a deal to build an initial 120 buses for the Republic of Ireland’s National Transport Authority (NTA). The 120 buses are part of a framework agreement which provides for the procurement of up to 800 zero-emission battery-electric buses over a period of five years.
Earlier in the year, Wrightbus signed major deals with Australia’s leading bus body manufacturer Volgren and German Bus operator Regionalverkehr Köln GmbH (RVK).
