We grew from a small group of individuals to a sizeable organisation of top achievers in just 14 years. The company's pillars, Bob and William Wright (far right) are wholly responsible for our achievements in the 1960s.
1967
This year, Jack Kernohan, one of the Wright family's most devoted and cherished employees, gave our customer a skip vehicle and digger trailer. He received a promotion to Sales Director in 1988, a position he kept until retiring in 2005.
1973
Deliveries of the Wrightbus Endurance fleet were made to Greater Manchester Buses, also referred to as GM Buses. At the time, all 20 buses produced by our company carried the Superbus logo.
1983
With a completely new product line, Wrightbus helped to usher in the 1980s. The business started making pricey, luxurious coaches. We developed a coach that, in terms of design, was innovative. It was given the name Contour.
2001
Wrightbus had a very fascinating 2001 because we began testing an articulated bus, also referred to as a bendy bus, on the well-travelled London route 207. They were considered at the time to be a workable tram service option.

In 2002, the well-liked low-floor double deck bus, Eclipse Gemini from Wrightbus, which had only been introduced a year earlier in 2001, was acclaimed as a superhit bus. Here is a picture of the bus body being constructed at the Galgorm Plant.
2004
A noteworthy accomplishment for Wrightbus and our top-of-the-line Gemini model. A mere three years after its launch, we produced the 1000th Gemini bus for Arriva London in 2004. In the UK, it was recognised as one of the most well-liked buses.
2006
Any business would find it challenging to maintain dependability and relevance over 60 years, but at Wrightbus, we don't believe in simple tasks. Here is a picture of management and staff posing together with pride outside the Galgorm Factory in 2006, the year that we celebrated our 60th anniversary.
2012
In 2012, Wrightbus unveiled the "Boris bus," which was inspired by the original AEC Routemaster. It gained notoriety for having a back open platform with "hop-on hop-off" functionality, just like the first Routemaster.

We first unveiled our recognisable Wrightbus StreetDeck buses in 2014, and since then, hybrid-electric, full-electric and hydrogen-powered variations have all been released.

PIONEERS OF PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION FROM LORRY MANUFACTURERS.
Following its establishment, Wrightbus started building single-deck conventional buses and coaches for several UK operators, before starting to build school buses for Northern Ireland's educational departments. Contracts with major UK bus companies and operators in Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as contracts with London, helped the company's expansion soar during the 1980s.
